Carl Sagan, simply put, was awesome. Far ahead of his time isn't even the correct phrase. There are few people on Earth with the clairvoyance to be so forward thinking yet explain their ideas in such a reachable fashion. Some of these things did not even involve Astronomy. He spoke on how human beings interact with each other, nuclear weapons and the general betterment of man-kind here on Earth. The Science channel recently started airing episodes of the "Cosmos". Probably one of the most well put together television series for it's time aired over PBS (the same PBS our federal government, for those of us that live in the United States of America, has been cutting back on; repeatedly). Just this weekend the Science channel ran a Cosmos marathon. It's really refreshing watching it again and if you haven't seen it; now is the time.
Christopher Warner is part genius, part idiot. This makes him well balanced. He's worked on numerous opensource projects with great people and has generally led an eventful and fulfilling life. He hopes to retire an old man in a rocking chair should he be so fortunate.
